“In Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture, there’s the “Yatoro Onkan”(“Yatoro” refers to the number eighty-six) located within the “Matsumoto Hotel Kagetsu.” This café is situated in a section of the hotel, which was established in the 20th year of the Meiji era.

The interior of the café remains as it was originally designed by Shichiro Ikeda, the founder of Matsumoto folk craft furniture, preserving the ambiance of that time.
For breakfast, they offer the “American Breakfast” (1,500 yen) as a prime option, alongside toast dishes and morning curry. The lunch menu includes “Hash de Beef Born from Kagetsu” (1,000 yen), “Seasonal Hotel Curry” (which comes with a salad for 1,200 yen), and “Seasonal Chirashi” (accompanied by a salad and a soup for 1,100 yen). Various other dishes are available during different times of the day.
Their handmade desserts include “Handmade Cake” (each for 590 yen), a limited quantity of “Old-fashioned Pudding” (400 yen), “Coffee Jelly” (400 yen), and a “Petit Ice Cream 3-Flavor Set” (490 yen).
The “Seasonal Parfait” (790 yen) is not only visually appealing, but its combination of various textures makes it enjoyable to eat until the last bite. It’s a dish one would want to try in every season.
Apart from their main menu, they occasionally introduce notable desserts like the limited quantity “Kagetsu-style Shaved Ice”.
