Located in the tourist hub of Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture, the Mont Blanc specialty shop “Japanese Chestnut Sweets kiito -Raw Silk-(和栗菓子kiito -生糸-)”. The store’s highlight is its Japanese chestnut Mont Blanc, but the limited quantity “Japanese Chestnut and Seasonal Fruit Parfait Set(和栗と季節の果物パフェ Set)”, extravagantly topped with that Mont Blanc, is also one of the spotlight desserts.
Limited Edition Japanese Chestnut and Seasonal Fruit Parfait Set - Find 12 more images captured from various angles here. This parfait is a seasonal parfait offered in limited quantities. It is a unique dish that combines domestic seasonal fruits and Japanese chestnuts available only during that period. Additionally, it combines about 9 types of ingredients, including matcha from Shizuoka Prefecture, to create a beautiful gradient. When visited in early February, the “Sakura and Shizuoka Strawberry Parfait” was served.
The ingredients are packed into the glass in multiple layers, and then, almost as if to say, “Can you believe this?”, a generous amount of their signature Mont Blanc is lavishly piped on top. “What, you’re putting that much Mont Blanc on it? What, even more? Thank you so much…!” expresses deep gratitude.
The parfait is finished with toppings, layering luxury upon luxury to create a truly indulgent treat. As you enjoy the not-too-sweet Mont Blanc, various flavors such as sakura leaf ice cream, Atami-produced citrus mascarpone cheese, Shizuoka-grown strawberries “Benihoppe”, and Shizuoka tea panna cotta emerge one after another, allowing you to savor the changing flavors.
The parfait is more voluminous than it appears, exceeding the size of an average adult woman’s palm. It’s so substantial that one might find it enough even without lunch. “Having a seafood bowl and then this for dessert…” might be the plan, but those who eat less should be cautious, as they might become too full to fully enjoy the flavors. Nonetheless, it remains a parfait that brings happiness both to the eyes and the palate.
Please note that the ingredients used in this parfait may vary by season.
