Louis Robuchon, the son of the late Joël Robuchon, known as a legend in the French culinary world, has opened his first chocolaterie, “Éclat de Chocolat Louis Robuchon,” in Omotesando, Tokyo, on March 30.
Here are five images of chocolates and more offered by the chocolaterie Éclat de Chocolat Louis RobuchonThe store, which has gained attention for selling out at Isetan Shinjuku store events and for collaborations with high-end brands, is now making its debut as a permanent chocolaterie. It aims to explore new realms of chocolate, from classic chocolates to those based on select Japanese ingredients and chocolates that give the sensation of eating a French course meal.
Louis, who responded to the interview, when asked about his feelings regarding the opening, commented, “We have been serving chocolates as sweets at our shops, but we have never done a chocolaterie in the style of Joël Robuchon around the world. My father passed away without seeing this dream realized, so it was something I always wanted to do. I’m happy that it has come to fruition.”
Regarding the future of the chocolaterie, he said, “If things go well, by around May we plan to offer related sweets and baked goods. This will include options for eating in. We also want to increase our offerings of ice cream and cold drinks in the summer.”
