The popular menu item “Obihiro no Mori” at this store is a ricotta cheese soufflé pancake. The enjoyable time is just 5 minutes: ‘Obihiro no Mori’ image. Even people with a sensitivity to hot foods can enjoy it safely.

The pancakes are baked to order and brought to the table in about 10 to 15 minutes. They deflate quickly once they cool, so it is recommended to start eating while they are still warm. The deflation begins in about 5 minutes. Although the taste doesn’t change significantly after deflation, the unique airy texture of freshly baked soufflé pancakes is lost. Despite being freshly baked, they are served at a moderate warmth, making them safe to eat even for those sensitive to hot foods.

The recommended way to enjoy it is to add the whipped cream and maple syrup provided on a separate plate to the soufflé pancake until it is soaked. The warm soufflé quickly absorbs the maple syrup, so even right after pouring, it is well soaked, allowing you to enjoy a “fluffy and juicy” sensation. The sweetness of the whipped cream and maple syrup is mild, so even when thoroughly soaked, you can finish eating without feeling thirsty.

Eating it plain allows you to appreciate the gentle sweetness of the ricotta cheese. You can enjoy the melting texture of the soufflé and the flavor of the ricotta cheese, then add maple syrup and whipped cream to the rest to experience two different textures. Despite their appearance, both are light in texture and have a mild sweetness, making it easy to finish them before you know it. They can be swallowed with minimal chewing, making them enjoyable for both small children and the elderly. The whipped cream is also made with freshness in mind, so it won’t cause heartburn or an upset stomach.

The first-floor store is popular for its takeout menu items, “Yukikon Cheese” and “Sakusaku Pie.” Both have an optimal eating time: “Yukikon Cheese” for 2 hours and “Sakusaku Pie” for 3 hours. It is recommended to eat them immediately at the first-floor eat-in corner after purchase.

“Yukikon Cheese” is a product that consists of baked cheesecake sandwiched between cocoa biscuits. Despite being biscuits, they are thin and crispy, with a moderate bitterness that enhances the flavor of the baked cheesecake. The biscuits used are the company’s popular product “Yukiya Konko.” It is palm-sized, but the rich cheesecake is the main attraction, making it a highly satisfying product.

“Sakusaku Pie” is a product featuring a cornet-shaped pastry filled with fresh custard cream. Despite its crispy pastry, it does not crumble easily. It leaves only a slight trace of pastry around the mouth, making it easy for small children to eat. You can enjoy the buttery flavor and the gentle sweetness of the fresh custard cream. The fresh custard cream has a subdued color and a refined sweetness. Even those who find commercial sweets too sweet can enjoy this one bite after bite.

The first-floor store features a range of products that are popular as souvenirs, enjoyed by both locals and tourists. The Western-style sweets in the display case are also reasonably priced and popular as gifts. The café offers monthly seasonal sweets, including a variety of options such as strawberry, matcha, and cheesecake.

Surrounded by a warm interior, friendly service, and sweets that you’ll want to eat over and over again, it’s easy to see why this place has been loved since its founding. It’s a must-visit spot when you come to Eastern Hokkaido.
