It consists of 12 types of petit gateaux and 5 types of savory items. The price starts at 8,250 yen, including tax and service charge.
This time, the menu pursues a refreshing marriage of matcha and citrus fruits, combining the slightly bitter flavor of matcha with lime, grapefruit, and amanatsu. Guests can enjoy a harmonious balance of refreshment and matcha taste, and acidity in items such as “Lime and Matcha Rare Cheesecake” and “Grapefruit and Matcha Tartlet.”
On the other hand, there are also menu items that directly convey the profound taste of matcha. These include “Matcha Panna Cotta” with varying levels of intensity, “Caramel and Matcha Cookie Sandwich” which features matcha buttercream and caramel cream sandwiched between rich matcha cookie dough, and “Matcha Terrine Chocolat,” steamed and baked in the oven. These combinations with dairy products and chocolate, which pair well with matcha, allow guests to fully savor the fragrant flavor of matcha.
The item with the highest concentration is the “8% Matcha Panna Cotta with Rice Puff Chocolate.” According to the hotel, they raised the concentration to the limit while considering the balance of bitterness and deliciousness. Indeed, it has the most intense matcha flavor among the afternoon tea menu items. Although the flavor is strong, it doesn’t leave an overly bitter impression.
Additionally, the savory items served on a separate plate incorporate matcha into bread dough and cream cheese, and make abundant use of green ingredients such as leafy vegetables like spinach and arugula, as well as edamame and green peas. When actually tasted, the crunchy texture of the edamame and green peas adds an enjoyable element.
For this afternoon tea, there are special drinks available including a non-alcoholic “Matcha Latte” and two cocktails: “Matcha Mimosa” and “Matcha Milky Way.”
