Amand Roppongi Store will have its grand reopening on July 17. In advance of this, on July 16, the interior and the new menu offerings were unveiled to the press.
The Amand Roppongi Store, which will have its grand reopening, has provided 20 images showcasing the building's exterior and interior, as well as the cakes on sale.“Amand Roppongi Store” opened in 1964 and became popular as the “Roppongi Style” of the time, where people would spend their waiting time enjoying cakes and coffee. Since then, the phrase “Let’s meet at Amand” has been cherished by many celebrities and locals, making it a symbol of the Roppongi intersection. To commemorate its 60th anniversary, the store has been renewed with the concept of “Old New.”
The exterior and interior of the store feature Amand-colored furniture and shades modeled after parasols, reminiscent of the store’s opening in 1964. While cherishing its history, the store aims to offer a “sweet and happy moment” in a nostalgic yet new setting, continuing to be loved by a wide range of ages. Both the interior and exterior are highlighted by the vibrant Amand pink color.
Additionally, the store has strengthened its retail offerings. Anticipating takeout demand for souvenirs and gifts, they have introduced a range of items made entirely in-store under the “Made in Roppongi” brand, including fresh pastries like the “Roppongi Ring Choux” and the “Roppongi After Parfait.” They have also refreshed the flavors of baked goods from the Showa era, such as “Palmiers” and “Kipferl.”
The newly introduced dine-in only afternoon tea “Amando” offers a sweet and leisurely experience while gazing at the Roppongi intersection, embodying the essence of Amando. The price is 2,500 yen, including tax. According to the store, they aimed to set a “reasonable price that makes it easy to step into the café.”
The takeout-only “Roppongi After Parfait” is decorated in six layers (symbolizing Roppongi) with fruits and cream, reflecting the vibrancy of Roppongi. It offers a variety of flavors depending on the season. Additionally, customers can choose a food fragrance for “scenting” at the time of order, so that a delightful aroma wafts out when the lid is opened. The price is 800 yen, including tax.
To commemorate the grand reopening, the “Roppongi Ring Choux” has also been renewed. With the concept of “the most delicious ring choux right now,” not only has the choux pastry been improved, but the custard cream recipe has also been revised, resulting in a pastry that is even more “crispy on the outside and smooth on the inside.” The price is 600 yen, including tax, for takeout, and 612 yen, including tax, for dine-in.
