From May 14 to mid-June, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts will launch three special doughnuts in collaboration with the iconic video game character Pac-Man for the first time ever, available at stores nationwide across Japan.In conjunction with the release, the Shibuya Cine Tower store in Tokyo will be transformed into a Pac-Man-themed space, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the world of the game for a limited time.At a media preview event, the new doughnuts were unveiled alongside a special appearance by Pac-Man as the store manager for the day.

“Pac-Man” will celebrate its 45th anniversary on May 22, 2025. To mark this occasion, the Shibuya Cine Tower store—located in the Shibuya area where Pac-Man was originally created—will be transformed into a Pac-Man-themed space for a limited time, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in the nostalgic world of the game.
As part of the celebration, Pac-Man himself is scheduled to appear as a one-day store manager on May 21 and 22. The collaboration doughnuts, inspired by Pac-Man’s colorful and retro-pop universe, will be available in three unique varieties: the bright and cheerful “Pac-Man Custard Sprinkle”, the mischievously sweet “Ghost Chocolate”, and the fruity, powerful “Power Strawberry.”
The “Pac-Man Custard Sprinkle” doughnut brings the classic Pac-Man gameplay—where Pac-Man munches his way through colorful ghosts—to life in edible form. This ring doughnut is topped with a light custard-flavored cream and sprinkled with vibrant candy bits inspired by the ghosts from the game. As a finishing touch, it features a familiar Pac-Man-shaped monaka wafer on top. The crisp texture of the sprinkles pairs perfectly with the soft, fluffy doughnut, while the custard cream offers a mildly sweet flavor that balances the overall taste.
The “Ghost Chocolate” features a soft dough filled with rich chocolate cream, coated in a layer of bitter chocolate that evokes the aesthetic of classic arcade games. Blue and yellow coatings are used to draw maze-like lines on the surface, and ghost-shaped monaka wafers are placed on top to complete the look. This doughnut offers a playful experience, as if the world of “Pac-Man” has jumped straight out of the screen and onto your plate. During the same limited-time period, the Shibuya Cine Tower store will also feature specially designed tables inspired by the arcade game for visitors to enjoy.
The “Power Strawberry” is a doughnut inspired by the bonus items in the “Pac-Man” game, designed to look and taste like a bright red strawberry. A soft dough filled with strawberry cream is coated in strawberry icing, creating the vibrant red appearance reminiscent of the in-game fruit. Green cream is piped on top to resemble the strawberry’s leafy stem, and it’s finished with a sprinkle of white sugar crystals. The doughnut offers a bold strawberry tartness and a refreshing aftertaste.
The campaign is being rolled out globally. While the design of the collaboration doughnuts remains the same across all regions, the colors and flavors have been specially adapted to suit Japanese preferences.
To celebrate the 45th anniversary, Krispy Kreme is also offering the “Pac-Man Dozen Half (6 pieces),” a special assortment that includes the three limited-time collaboration doughnuts along with fan favorites like the Original Glazed and Chocolate Sprinkle. The set comes in a limited-edition box featuring a Pac-Man-style maze design. The special packaging will be available only while supplies last.
