Japan is home to a wide range of donut shops, from major chains to specialty stores. When asked about what sets Randy’s Donuts apart in such a competitive market, Mr. Haga responded, “Our standout feature is our extremely large, American-sized donuts. They’re also visually colorful and eye-catching. We’ve also prepared a variety of cute merchandise like T-shirts and other fun content. We hope these elements will help us differentiate ourselves.”

We hope customers will look forward to what’s coming.”

He also expressed his ambition for further expansion, stating, “Starting next year, we plan to roll out more stores in major cities across Japan. By the time of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, we hope to have around 50 locations nationwide.”

Randy’s Donuts is a popular donut shop that was founded in Los Angeles in 1952. The massive donut-shaped sign, approximately 10 meters (32 feet) in diameter, perched atop the roof of its original U.S. location, has long been a symbol of the city. It has appeared in numerous popular films, music videos, and on celebrity social media, making it widely recognized as a Los Angeles landmark.

Using its original recipe that has been passed down for decades, Randy’s Donuts offers more than 40 varieties of handcrafted donuts daily. These include Classic, Deluxe, Fancy, and Premium donuts, as well as the signature round-shaped “Randy’s Rounds” and the oversized “Texas” donuts.
