Japanese convenience store chain Lawson launched the “Uchi Café × Milk Melting MILK Cheesecake” (とろけるMILKチーズケーキ) at stores across Japan on October 13, 2026. Created in collaboration with Milk, a Japanese dessert shop specializing in fresh cream, this treat combines a rich, milky cheesecake with whipped cream made with sweetened condensed milk. Priced at 297 yen (approximately $2 USD, including tax), it promises a luxurious dessert experience in a surprisingly small package. We tried it to see how it tastes.

In Japan, convenience stores, commonly known as konbini, are famous for offering an impressive variety of high-quality desserts. Lawson’s Uchi Café brand is particularly well known for its affordable yet carefully crafted sweets, making it a popular stop for dessert lovers across the country.

The first thing that catches the eye is the cheesecake’s pure white appearance. Beautiful waves of condensed milk whipped cream cover the top, creating a simple yet elegant presentation. Small enough to fit comfortably in the palm of your hand, the miniature cheesecake has an irresistibly adorable look.

When we pressed a fork into it, we were surprised by just how soft it was. Even the small plastic forks commonly provided at Japanese convenience stores could easily slice through the cheesecake with almost no effort. Its delicate texture immediately raised our expectations for a melt-in-your-mouth experience.

With the first bite, the cheesecake’s rich flavor filled our mouths. Despite its pronounced cheesy richness, a gentle milky sweetness emerged underneath, creating a beautifully balanced taste.

The whipped cream on top melted smoothly in our mouths, adding another layer of creamy sweetness. Together, the cheesecake and condensed milk whipped cream delivered a rich, satisfying combination of flavors.

What stood out most was the exceptionally smooth, melt-in-your-mouth texture. Both the cheesecake and whipped cream dissolved effortlessly on the tongue, leaving behind a lingering, indulgent sweetness. Despite its small size, it was so satisfying that we immediately wanted another one. Each cheesecake contains 203 calories.

Though tiny and completely white, this dessert delivers an impressive burst of rich, milky sweetness. Combining an adorable appearance with a luxuriously creamy texture, it is the kind of heavenly treat that might even make an angel swoon.
The cheesecake is available at participating Lawson convenience stores throughout Japan. However, availability may vary by store and region. Sales may end without prior notice in certain areas, and release dates may differ at some locations.
