On April 25, Starbucks celebrated the renewal of “SHIBUYA TSUTAYA” by reopening both the “Starbucks Coffee SHIBUYA TSUTAYA 1F Store” and the “Starbucks Coffee SHIBUYA TSUTAYA 2F Store.” The day before, on April 24, the stores were previewed to the press ahead of the opening.
Interior and other images of Starbucks Coffee SHIBUYA TSUTAYA can be found here.“SHIBUYA TSUTAYA” is often crowded and tends to be avoided due to the lack of cafes available near the station front. To dispel this image, the location has transformed into a place more suitable for everyday use by expanding the Starbucks floor and adding working spaces on upper floors.
The outdoor takeaway-only “1F Store,” located at the entrance on the Park Street side, functions solely as a venue for selling takeaway beverages. It operates from 8:00 AM to 10:30 PM.
The indoor “2F Store” has expanded to occupy the entire second floor, offering around 100 seats. It operates from 7:00 AM to 10:30 PM.
Upon entering, one immediately notices it has expanded. The interior, seemingly inspired by Shibuya, is modern and pop, with few single seats available. The atmosphere even accommodates standing use, if preferred. The layout is more navigable than before, making it very accessible. Above all, the ambiance is comfortable, inviting one to drop by.
One concern remains: it may still exceed capacity and become extremely crowded. The option to stand or move to other floors might contribute to a festive, bustling atmosphere. For those who dislike crowds, it’s recommended to visit in the early morning or late evening, or to wait until the initial rush settles down after opening.
